Dear residents of Historic South Wayne, As most are now aware, part of our beloved park is up for sale. This came as a great surprise to us as a board and we were made aware of it the same as you - by seeing the for sale sign and looking up the listing.
We are doing everything we can to advocate for our park but the decision ultimately rests with the Boys and Girls Club. We have been working closely with the surrounding neighborhoods to create a cohesive and unified front. Our President gave a statement at our latest City Council meeting and we are so grateful to have the support of our councilman Geoff Paddock.
If you are looking for active ways to let your voice be heard you can sign our online petition (click here for online petition). Below you will find a hard copy petition if you prefer to sign that way. Feel free to email the petition back to this account or drop off a printed version to 1017 W Wildwood Ave by Sunday evening. Councilman Paddock will be presenting our petition to Joe Jordan, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club on Monday.
You will also find attached a "Save Our Park" flyer that anyone is free to print and distribute. A big thank you to Andy Kurzen who made quick work of all this material!
